Artūras Rakauskas is both a chef and an artist, taking his creativity from canvas to plate and back again. A chef at Kuchmistrai restaurant and a passionate Pop Art creator, he combines cooking and visual art so that every dish and painting becomes an emotional experience.

His art is bold, colourful and unafraid to provoke. Inspired by everyday chaos, fragments of Soviet-era aesthetics, advertising and contemporary culture, Rakauskas explores his times, identity and layers of the subconscious through Pop Art. His work is visual punk rock: irony, humour and an explosion of colour.

In the kitchen, he works like a performance artist. He creates stories as well as dishes, using ingredients like paint. Each plate is an installation that speaks of culinary tradition with a contemporary accent.
